De Quill

The information originally came from Gun Dog Magazine some years ago, and I've kept it for obvious reasons. Fred

To de-quill a dog, make a solution of one cup of vinegar and two teaspoons of baking soda. Shake well and apply on the protruding quills. Wait several minutes and repeat the application. This will soften and shrink the quills so that they can be removed without any pain to the dog. (Quills are lime and calcium, so they react to the mixture as described).
